Missions

Mission Statement

     The Missions Ministry Board sees individuals with diverse needs, abilities and resources that desire
     to become both self-sufficient and interdependent and will at some point be willing to contribute their
     time, talent and treasure to further helping each other and our community.

Mission Vision

     Our vision is one of a community in which neighbors reach out to support each other physically,
     emotionally, financially and spiritually, helping each to grow so that all may grow.  

Mission Strategy

• Our strategy is to recruit, train and mobilize those members of Community Church with a passion for missions ministry into a highly effective Ministry Board that can identify the needs of the community, then prioritize and match them with our community’s ability to provide solutions.

• Our strategy is to encourage expansion of mission outreach to all our church small groups, so that every group has at least one favored mission project every year.

• Our strategy is to strengthen our communities’ non-profit agencies with hands, minds and funds.  We will actively recruit church members to participate as non-profit Board members, hands-on workers and enthusiastic philanthropists.

• Our strategy is to both lead and to follow in development of interfaith solutions to community opportunities for improvement.

 Community Church’s Mission Commitment

     Our Church Council has committed 12% of the last year’s member-generated income to
     fund Missions Ministry for the succeeding year.  In addition, church leadership accepts
     funds for Mission Projects that pass directly through for the benefit of outside groups.
     Each source of funds makes up about half of the total Missions budget for the year.
