and Family Ministry
JOB DESCRIPTION: Minister for Children and Family Ministry – part time
PURPOSE: To develop and nurture a ministry of Christian faith formation for children and families through The Community Church.
CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Children’s Ministry:

Serve as the spiritual leader for lay leaders of the Children and Family Ministry.

Provide oversight for the children’s ministry, including supervision of our nursery staff and Sunday School Director.

Lead our Community Preschool Chapel and collaborate with staff to create weekly handouts with Biblical themed family activities, including games, crafts, and recipes.

Collaborate with the Director of the Pre-School and regularly communicate with preschool families: providing information and invitations to family opportunities and events: Bible Study, relevant small groups, worship, etc.
Family Ministry:

Welcome and develop relationships with families who are guests, friends and members of the church.

Strengthen Christian faith, life and leadership by creating small groups for parents and their families.

Prepare families for the baptism of their children.

Recruit, inspire, and equip adult volunteers to serve our children and families.

Strengthen community and family relationships through regular events and festivals for members and friends including: festivals (BOO Bash, Jingle Jam, Easter Festival); family classes (Meal Prep, Platter Painting); and family events (Sunday Funday, Corn Hole Tournament Mother/Daughter Tea, and the Sweet Treat Swap)
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Flexible schedule, as negotiated with supervisor, healthy and collaborative team.
REQUIREMENTS: People person, outgoing: Passion for children and family ministry; organized and collaborative; resilient and flexible. Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field such as education, social work, or psychology; seasoned and mature faith; experience with children, families, ministry settings.
COMPENSATION: Negotiable
