About Community Preschool

Nationally accredited and State of Florida Gold Seal designated, Community Preschool strives to provide an exceptional preschool experience for all children that is grounded in current research and proven best-practices for early learners.

Our program places a great emphasis on an individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Through this approach, we provide a safe and nurturing environment, while promoting each child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.

We strive to build a strong foundation of skills and learning experiences that help each child reach their fullest potential and support future school readiness. Literacy and building phonological awareness are an important part of our curriculum. We utilize a progressive continuum of experiences that reinforce development of oral and written language skills.

The Community Preschool Pre-K program is also based on the GEMS (Great Explorations in Math and Science) curriculum by the University of California. This program uses science and math concepts with a hands-on approach in all key areas of the classroom.

We focus on supporting each child’s unique development including the valuable skills of self-control and ability to solve problems in positive, productive ways. Through intentional teaching and modeling, we strive to help each child develop a strong sense of self-respect and respect for others.

Our teachers are qualified by their education, experience and commitment to providing the best possible experience for the children in our school. We have teachers with varied professional backgrounds and credentials with a range from Certified Child Development Associates to Master’s Degrees in Education. More than half of our staff have been with the preschool for over five years and more than half of those have taught here over ten years.
